The Unity Film Festival is a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of emerging talent from underrepresented communities, including senior citizens, youth, Indigenous peoples, newcomers, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with neurodiversity. Based in the heart of High River, Alberta, our short film festival provides a welcoming space for first-time directors to explore filmmaking as a tool for storytelling. Through inclusive workshops, online courses, and accessible resources, we empower new artists to share their unique experiences and visions.
In a world saturated with social media, Unity Film Festival is a documentary film festival that champions the timeless power of high-quality, long-form storytelling that resonates through inspiring documentaries and films crafted for the big screen. We aim to provide these emerging voices with the tools to create impactful narratives that might otherwise remain untold. That said, in my opinion this type of authentic film and filmmaking, creates a buzz and generates potential social media content.
This isn't just about films—it's about transforming lives through the art of cinema and celebrating the diversity of human experience.

Unity Film Festival Land Acknowledgment
We respectfully acknowledge that the Unity Film Festival and its activities take place on the traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples of Treaty 7. This includes the Blackfoot Confederacy, which consists of the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Stoney Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley). We also recognize the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, who share a deep connection with this land.
